Jonathan Male originally joined PNNL in 2006 as a scientist focused on catalysis. After more than seven years leading DOE’s Bioenergy Technologies Office, he's back at PNNL as a chief scientist in the Energy Processes & Materials Division.
PNNL’s Dan Gaspar and John Holladay were part of the Co-Optima leadership team honored by DOE’s Vehicle Technologies Office. The award recognized groundbreaking work to synergistically improve fuels and engines to maximize fuel economy.
PNNL and collaborator LanzaTech were honored April 24 for their partnership in the development and commercialization of an ethanol-based synthetic paraffinic jet fuel that can use any sustainable ethanol as a feedstock.

PNNL materials scientist Kevin Simmons is part of a collaboration that was recognized for work in hydrogen safety, codes and standards recently at the DOE Hydrogen and Fuel Cells Program annual merit review and peer evaluation.
